Feb. 24  

History Conference, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Roosevelt Elementary School, 120 Capitol Street Salinas, CA

Topics & Presenters:

Agriculture & Immigration: Mr. Henry Dill, Ippoliti International. Education & Social Institutions: Ms. Mary Randall, First Mayor's House Politics: Local, State and National: Mr. Sam Pacheco, Hartrnell College. Transportation & Commerce: Ms. Anita Mason, Monterey-Salinas Valley Railroad Museum.

March 3rd

First Saturday House Tour, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This docent-led tour is open to the public.  Donations appreciated.  


March 8th

5th Grade Teacher Institute at 3:30-6:30 p.m.

This Thursday class is geared to 5th grade teachers, providing material to enable you to prepare your students for their visit to the House. 


March 17TH

5th Grade spring institute, 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Same as above but presented for your convenience on Saturday.


April 23rd 
to May 25th 

5th grade visits, 9:00 to noon. Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri.

Students are given a tour and then play, “California or Bust, ”.  The game created to challenge your students to follow in the footsteps of Isaac. J. Harvey and deal with real-life situations.


April 14th

Founders' Day - Salinas' 150th birthday 

A city-wide celebration of the founding of Salinas.  The celebration will be marked by special events and exhibitions, celebrating the many waves of immigrant who founded Salinas.


May 5th

Steinbeck Festival 

House tours will be given with a special exhibition, Connecting the Steinbeck's and the Harvey's.
